Snapfish Photo Book Direct Mail Campaign
Driving Photo Book Library Building Through Seasonal Direct Mail
Turning the “Bookshelf Wealth” Trend into a Direct Mail Campaign That Drives Photo Book Sales
Role: Brand Designer
Scope: Direct Mail Design, Campaign
Creative Development, Layout & Visual Storytelling
Snapfish launched a Q3 direct mail campaign designed to inspire existing customers to build a personal library of photo books. The creative concept tapped into the emerging “bookshelf wealth” trend, encouraging customers to view their photo books not just as single keepsakes but as a growing collection that documents life’s moments over time.
Working within established brand guidelines, I designed a large-format 6" x 11" direct mail postcard that showcased Snapfish’s diverse photo book offerings across key life occasions—including everyday moments, travel, baby and kids, weddings, and year-in-review albums. The creative emphasized product-driven photography and lifestyle inspiration to help customers envision how these books could fit into their homes and routines.
The design balanced emotional storytelling with clear value messaging, highlighting Snapfish’s core reasons to believe: ease of creation, affordability, and the joy of preserving memories. A strong promotional offer—70% off photo books including extra pages and 55% off sitewide products—was incorporated to drive conversion and encourage repeat purchases among existing photo book customers.
The campaign was distributed to approximately 75,000 existing customers through a rolling weekly direct mail program. By combining lifestyle inspiration, clear product benefits, and a compelling offer, the mailer positioned photo books as both a meaningful keepsake and an accessible annual tradition.
The Q3 Photo Book direct mail campaign generated $51K in incremental revenue, achieving a 10% lift in revenue per audience member and a 3.6% increase in average order size. The campaign delivered an incremental return on ad spend (iROAS) of 1.32, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining inspiration-driven creative with strong promotional incentives.
